Jeepney Quotes Type
This is a collection of type posters inspired by quotations and signs that can be seen while riding jeepneys here in the Philippines. This project was done is support of the transport strike of jeepney drivers who are fighting against the unwanted and unsubsidized modernization of jeepney vehicles.
Translation
The quote "barya lang po sa umaga" is directly translated to "only coins in the morning, please." It's a request by the driver to only pay in coins as they don't have change to give during the start of their shift.
"Basta driver, sweet lover" is roughly translated to "I'm a driver so I'm a sweet lover." It's a play on words that rhyme.
"God knows Hudas not Pay" is a wordplay to the sentence "God knows who does not pay." It changes the words "who does" to "Hudas."
